Transport - Getting to Padstow

By Car

From the M5 southbound, keep on the M5 until you see the turning to the A30, come off onto this road.

The most direct route to Padstow is to come off the A30 at Bodmin (A389) and follow the directions through Bodmin and Wadebridge.  Just after Whitecross village, turn right towards St.Issey and Little Petherick (A389), this section of road is very narrow in places and not recommended for wide vehicles.  To avoid this narrow road stay on the A39 through Whitecross and continue until you reach Winnards Perch roundabout, then turn right towards Padstow.

Alternatively, you can stay on the A30 until you reach the Indian Queens turning, then follow the signs to Padstow along the A39.

By Bus

Padstow is reached by the Western Greyhound bus 555 which goes from Bodmin Parkway station via Wadebridge or on the 556 which goes along the coast road from Newquay via the airport.  The nearest National Express bus stop is in Wadebridge.

Ferry

The ferry between Padstow and Rock goes about every 15 minutes in the main season.  The first trip is around 8:00am, see the notice boards on t he quayside for the time of the last trip. The ferry leaves from the end of the quay, except for very low tide when it leaves from the beach by the War Memorial, look for the ferry flag to direct you to the correct place.  For more information, call the Harbour Commissioners on 01841 532 239, after these hours there is a water taxi which can be booked on 07778 105 297.
