Walking in the area

The stunning coastal walks provide the ideal place to explore the North Cornish coast and you can do as much or as little as you like. There are easy routes that you can amble along from one beach to the next or more demanding stretches for those of you who like a challenge!

People travel from all over the world to see the breathtaking and unforgettable scenery and to us, there is nowhere better. The coastline changes dramatically from sheer cliffs to sandy coves and the flower and plant life is exquisite at certain times of the year, not to mention the wildlife. Seabirds are always a great attraction and if you are lucky you may see some seals in the sea or on the rocks or even dolphins in
the summer!

  • The Saints Way
    Distance: 28 miles
A popular attraction down here is The Saints Way. This is a 28 mile footpath that takes you right across the heart of the region from tranquil Harbours and ports to rugged cliff tops and travels all the way from Padstow down to Fowey on the south coast. The Saints Way, or ‘Forth an Syns’ in Cornish, is based upon ancient trade routes that historians suspect date back to the bronze age. Steeped in history, this walk will take you past holy wells and standing stones as well as more modern day sights and of course, even more breathtaking scenery. The route is clearly marked and signposted and you can join and finish anywhere you like. It is the perfect way to explore the outstanding countryside between the two coasts.
